A Solstice Wish | It's the Winter Solstice - the darkest time of the year.
Until today, the days have been shrinking, and starting tomorrow, they will begin to grow again. But today, they are motionless, neither increasing nor decreasing.
The solstice has been marked and meaningful all over the world for centuries, and has so much to offer:
An opportunity for reflection and rest. A Solstice Wish.
Nature gives us a dark, muffled, spartan container that almost forces us to sit still and just BE. I encourage you to find that quiet stillness and come to rest in the valley between the changing days sometime today. And notice what is revealed. What remains when all the motion, noise, and busyness steps aside? You may find insight, or feel drawn to try a new way of being with yourself or the world around you…
A moment to bring new light, love, and warmth into our lives.
We light candles or hearth fires, surround ourselves with loved ones, and nourish ourselves with comforting foods… that stillness allows us to create room for beautiful illumination to come to us. What are you ready to bring in today that adds warmth and connection to your life?
A time to celebrate.
For most of us, since the time change in October, our lives have become darker, colder, busier, and harder. But starting tomorrow, we will see more light each day and move closer to a warm and inspiring Springtime. We made it, and it’s all uphill from here! Give yourself permission to celebrate and have a little fun!
